Mirror


Saw my reflection in a mirror
and recoiled from the shock
I wasn't who I thought I was
Who was this imposter
who had stolen my mind
and put it in this awful body?
Too old, too fat, wrong race, wrong sex
Why have they done this to me?
I don't care. I do not care.
I know who I am
and I shall not be looking in mirrors again
